Scheduling an Ear Crop

Ear cropping surgeries take place on Mondays and Thursdays.  We do require a $100 deposit at the time you make the appointment to reserve your slot.  The deposit is refundable three days in advance or before.  We will send you information in the mail about the posting process so you can know what to expect for aftercare.  Please bring your dog's vaccination records with you to your appointment.  Please see our policy on vaccinations here.  We would be happy to administer vaccinations on the day of surgery, in addition to the cost of surgery, if they need to be updated.

Pre-Operative Preparation

Please bathe your dog the evening before surgery.  Do not feed your dog or let it have water after midnight the night before, nor on the day of surgery.  If you are a new client, we ask that you arrive 10-15 minutes prior to scheduled time to complete new client paperwork.  Allow approximately 20-30 minutes to review the procedure with the doctor.  This is the time to ask any questions you might have.  You will receive a price estimate for payment due at the time you pick up your dog.

Post-Operative Information

After surgery is complete and your dog is becoming alert after anesthesia, we will call you with an update.  We will also confirm that pickup is approved for the next day.  We want your dog to stay at the clinic for one night post-op in case there are any adverse reactions or complications.   Your pet can go home the following day after 9:00 AM.  You will receive some medications which are included in the cost of the crop.
